Job Summary About the Role The Regional Sales Director - South is a key leadership position responsible for driving significant sales growth in the South Indian region. This role requires a seasoned sales leader with extensive experience in the FMCG or pet care industry to develop and execute a winning sales strategy, build strong customer relationships, and lead a high-performing sales team. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement the regional sales strategy for the South Indian market, aligned with overall business goals. Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within various sales channels (SAMT, GT, Specialty Trade). Establish ambitious but achievable sales targets and ensure their consistent achievement or overachievement. Channel Management: Expand the distribution network for Godrej Pet Care products across General Trade, Specialty Trade, and other relevant channels. Build and nurture strong relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, retailers, veterinary clinics, and pet stores. Performance Monitoring & Insights: Conduct regular market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior in the South Indian pet care market. Utilize market insights to adjust sales strategies and capitalize on new opportunities. Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and provide insightful reports to senior management. Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and loyalty. Address and proactively resolve customer concerns or issues in a timely and efficient manner. Collaboration & Team Development: Work closely with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment of sales initiatives with broader company objectives. Optimize spending on trade promotions, discounts, and other sales initiatives to maximize return on investment. Collaborate with the finance team to forecast sales and manage inventory levels effectively. Lead, mentor, and develop the regional sales team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on results, collaboration, and innovation. Experience & Leadership Competencies Experience: 15+ years of proven sales leadership experience in the FMCG, pet care, or a related industry. Functional Expertise: Strategic Sales Management: Ability to develop and execute regional sales strategies that drive revenue growth and market share expansion. Leadership & Team Development: Proven leadership skills in managing and motivating a high-performing sales team, focused on continuous development and achieving sales excellence. Market Intelligence: Strong understanding of the South Indian FMCG market, with the ability to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats. Customer Relationship Management: Expertise in building and maintaining long-term relationships with key customers, distributors, and stakeholders to enhance brand loyalty and sales effectiveness. Analytical & Forecasting Skills: Proficiency in sales forecasting, data analysis, and performance monitoring to make informed business decisions and optimize sales outcomes. Leadership Competencies: Strategic Thinking: Develop and execute a differentiated value creation strategy that leverages internal and external insights. Delivering Results: Consistently achieves goals and projects on time, exceeding expectations on quality and cost efficiency. Team & Structure This role reports directly to the COO of Godrej Pet Care and leads the entire South Indian sales team.
