At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.
This is a hybrid position. You ll divide your time between working remotely from your home and an office, so you should live within commuting distance of our office in Pune. This role is divided between 3 days in our Pune office and 2 days working remotely.
What you'll get to do...
GoDaddy s Commerce Engineering function builds Omni-Channel commerce capabilities that enables our merchants to do business seamlessly. This new exciting role will be the first Director Engineering for our Commerce business unit on the ground in India, instrumental in the growth of our commerce engineering team - building and leading teams and ensuring we deliver outstanding capabilities for our customers so that they can run their business efficiently, drive growth and see success.
If you are a highly motivated, success-driven engineering director, who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, with an ownership mentality, willing to experiment with different approaches and technologies and who is ready to hire, build and grow teams to build platform capabilities for our merchants, this would be an exciting role for you.
- Build out commerce engineering function in India, across two teams: The first team will focus on services that allow our merchants to handle their payment terminals and the second for developers to build apps using our Commerce API s
- Hire, lead and retain a team of Engineers to build capabilities and solutions, own and drive operational excellence and promote architectural initiatives, balancing long-term velocity with short-term customer needs
- Partner and collaborate with our product teams as you craft outstanding product experiences and experiment with different technologies
- Own maintainability of the systems and optimizes for performance and scalability
Your experience should include...
- 8+ years proven ability leading a growing software development function, across a broad tech stack
- Consistent track record of successfully hiring and retaining diverse engineering teams who can craft great product experiences
- Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS technologies and full stack development and deep knowledge of agile development methodology
- Conceptual architect, able to set standards and principles with a strong bias toward architecture design
- Experience crafting highly scalable software solutions that delight customers
- Experience with automation of different processes, from build tools to monitoring
- Natural communicator, with demonstrable experience in partnering with stakeholders, managing up and the ability to foster collaboration within, and across teams
You might also have...
- Knowledge of software security standard methodologies
- Experience with Payment Processing, PCI Compliance and Payment Regulations
