Bi Developer Job in Expedia Group
The People Team organization is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to design, develop, and implement data visualizations and self-service tools that will put key information at the fingertips of our decision makers. This is a rare role to the small but mighty People Analytics team which is responsible for delivering reports, solutions and insights across Expedia Group. As an integral member of the team, you will be helping us build a premier analytics platform and methodologies that provide insights other companies cannot match!
What you'll do:
The BI Developer collaborates with the People Analytics Manager to develop and improve the current suite of tools with a solid focus on Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits and Stock) solutions. You are both a technically and functionally proficient engineer that oversees developing, deploying, and maintaining BI interfaces. Those include query tools, , interactive dashboards, adhoc reporting, and data modeling. We are seeking a candidate with sophisticated Tableau skills while demonstrating an Agile development process. Partnership with the Human Resources Technology team will be required to improve both data quality and architecture as we transition over to an AWS Data Lake platform.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced Tableau Development
- Relational Database and SQL Language
- Data Warehouse / Data Lake design
- Report Development (Microsoft SSRS)
Who you are- You'll fit if you have
- 1-3 years of experience with HR data preferred
- 1-3 years of experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
- 1-3 years of experience with AWS, Qubole, Presto and/or Hive a plus
- 3-5 years of experience with Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing
- 3-5 years of experience with Tableau
- Translate functional business requirements into technical requirements
- Participation in Data Lake design
- Experience with Agile development methodology
- Create and maintain technical and user documentation
- Flexible approach to working hours (when required) to meet deadlines
- Thrives in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Consistent track record to take ownership of problems/issues and see them to completion
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related field is preferable. Equivalent combination of experience, education and training will be considered
