Job Summary
The Head of Business Compliance is responsible for establishing, managing, and promoting a strong compliance culture within the organization. This role involves overseeing the Business Compliance Program, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Compliance Program Management Develop, implement, and maintain an effective compliance employee engagement and communication program. Manage the Business Compliance Program in collaboration with stakeholders, evaluating its effectiveness through key metrics. Develop, maintain, revise, and operationalize policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, and training materials. Monitor legal and regulatory trends, prioritize compliance issues, and determine appropriate courses of action. Conduct internal audits to assess compliance program controls and support external audits. Address conflict of interest questions and gift approvals, ensuring consistency with global policies and regional laws. Compliance Leadership Serve as a change agent and champion for compliance initiatives within the India Business. Drive ongoing growth and transformation of the compliance organization across all markets. Qualifications Education Graduate or professional qualification in law, finance, or a related field from a reputable Indian university. Experience Minimum 10 years of experience as a legal professional with a focus on compliance, preferably in the pharma/healthcare sector. Experience in a US-listed company handling compliance is beneficial. Technical Skills Familiarity with US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, UK Bribery Act, Prevention of Corruption Act of India, and other global anti-corruption regulations. Strong knowledge of pharma marketing practices, codes of conduct for medical professionals, and the regulatory framework for pharmaceutical product distribution. Experience driving compliance for complex regulated businesses and international entities. Proven track record of advising business stakeholders on compliant business practices. Superior analytical skills, mature judgment, and innovative thinking. Proven ability to draft policies, develop communication materials, and conduct training on compliance frameworks. Behavioral Skills Passion for excellence and ability to inspire others to the highest standards. Dynamic and resilient individual with strong decision-making and influencing skills. Effectiveness in operating in complex organizational environments and self-starter qualities. Team player with an open and direct leadership style.
