The Role As a Pre Sales Engineer you will contribute to revenue related activities across both potential and existing customers. By ensuring that customers have a strong understanding of Demyst products, services and overall value within their target state technology and business processes. You will contribute directly to the sales team's success. Demyst s target market is Tier 1 Banks & Insurers; typical buyers are Chief Data Officers and their teams; and deals have an enterprise sales size, length, and complexity. Working with the regional sales team as well as technology and data teams you will support all activities up to closing sales. To achieve success, you will need to gain an intimate knowledge of your clients, and as such you may have to travel to the US to be onsite with them. You will be the voice of customers internally, and should keep up to date with the latest industry trends and topics. You will undergo a thorough onboarding program, learning independently and from colleagues with deep technical know-how from across the world. While this is a fully-remote role, successful candidates are expected to be based in Bengaluru where Demyst is building its next hub. As you will be supporting clients globally, you will be expected to align your working hours to the region you support (US or APAC). Responsibilities You will work as part of the sales team responsible for the client relationship(s) and revenue across the region. Key responsibilities are: Lead the technical assessment of clients architecture, data management tools, and workflows - coordinating with sales to produce and propose Demyst deployment patterns Liaise with the product, technology, and data teams to gain an in-depth knowledge of the Demyst product and overall solution that you can relate to customer outcomes Deliver presentations and demonstrations to prospective and existing customers, proactively contributing to the sales process and the achievement of Demyst revenue goals Consult with customers on their existing data management architecture, and advise them on target state improvements Work with sales teams in preparation and delivery of pitches, presentations, and proposals / RFP Conduct research into the industry and competitive landscape Advise on new customer opportunities (including cross and upsell), based on your knowledge of the product, the industry, and Demyst customers Requirements 8+ years pre sales experience within a SaaS, Software, Data Management business or technical consultancy Natural ability to influence through thought leadership and consultation at all levels within global, matrixed organizations by researching and keeping on top of industry developments Experience of a SaaS sales process within the Banking, Insurance, or similar industries, with a strong understanding of the core functions and roles within the client, as well as the external factors and strategic goals across the industry Demonstrable success in complex sales and account settings, utilizing excellent communication, written, and presentation skills Proven stakeholder management and engagement - up, down, and across the client organization, and within Demyst Excellent listening skills, a polished interpersonal style, and strong emotional intelligence BA/BS (or MA/MS) in a relevant field Prior knowledge of enterprise sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC) desirable but not essential Benefits Operate at the forefront of the external data industry, and work with the largest industry players in an emerging field that is fueling growth and technological advancement globally Have an outsized impact in a rapidly growing team, offering real autonomy and responsibility for client outcomes Stretch yourself to help define and support something entirely new Distributed team and culture Collaborative, inclusive, and dynamic culture Generous benefits and compensation plans ESOP awards available for tenured staff Join an established, and scaling data technology business Transfer to US and Australia offices possible for top performers after two years
