Title: Senior Network Engineer

Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer that can thrive in a challenging and rewarding environment. This person will assist with design, implementation, troubleshooting, analyzing and maintaining networks across the enterprise. The candidate will also be responsible for the daily support of the enterprise network components; including network security components and vendor communications, ensuring access to network systems,customer sites, SaaS platforms, and maximizing network infrastructure efficiency through performance monitoring, managing resource usage, implementation of upgrades, diagnostics and troubleshooting. The candidate will also have the ability to configure, test and maintain network equipment and related services including OS patches/software upgrades. In addition, the candidate should be comfortable interfacing with technical team members across organizational departments and different time zones.

• Provides subject matter expertise in all aspects of Cisco/HP routing, switching, security, and load balancing
• Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
• Represent the team in security audit discussions and address any network related questions
• Performs analysis for performance and capacity
• Identifies diagnoses and resolves network problems at all layer of the network (alerts and trouble tickets)
• Participates in 24x7 on-call rotation

Required Qualifications:

• Seven or more years hands-on networking experience
• Extensive experience with network design, installation, configuration/provisioning and troubleshooting
• Extensive experience with SNMP monitoring tools
• Extensive experience with routers, firewalls, switches, IEEE 802.1x, VPN, wireless access points, remote access, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH, SMTP concepts
• Extensive experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Firepower, ASA and Juniper firewalls
• Experience with BGP, OSPF and other routing protocols
• Experience with site to site VPN, and DMVPN
• Must be able to work unsupervised, be a self-starter, well organized, and able to multi-task
• Must have the ability to communicate how technology works and why standard designs are beneficial
• Must be able to perform technology review of best in class communication offerings
• Ability to prioritize and remain calm in a high-pressure atmosphere
• Ability to plan and deliver projects using leading-edge technology
• Must have a great customer support attitude, good communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be a quick learner who embraces change
• Must be available 24x7 to provide scheduled and non-scheduled on-call support including weekends
• Prior experience working in a SaaS environment

Preferred:

• Cisco and Juniper certification (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, JNCIA)
• Experience with compute and storage platforms like Cisco UCS
• Experience with network appliance virtualization, VMware administration
• Experience with Linux, Active Directory, Windows server and other Microsoft products
• Project management skills

Education

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Electrical Engineering
