As we increase automation and transform existing HR processes, Employee Services-India is looking for a Business Analyst Manager to own and execute data-driven initiatives to build scale, efficiency and customer experience within the Lifecycle Business Analytics team. The candidate will work with stakeholders in the organization to set the right vision, strategy and roadmap and then lead the BA team to make it happen. The candidate knows and loves working with business intelligence tools, can model multidimensional datasets and draw out meaningful insights to make the right business decisions, and can partner effectively with business leaders to answer key business questions.

The Business Analyst Manager plays a leadership role in the BA team the analysts look to you for advice on analytical and business issues facing them. You are right, a lot. You get a lot done. You work very efficiently and routinely deliver the right things. You have a department-wide view of the analytical solutions that you build, and you consistently think in terms of automating or expanding the results company-wide. You have performed multiple large, complex, and business critical analyses that serve major parts of the business. Your work and your approach to work are exemplary you drive best practices and set standards for your team. Other analytical individuals in the broader organization regard you as an expert in one or more analytical areas. You provide advice and mentoring to other analysts. You are a key influencer in your teams strategy and contribute significantly to team planning. You show good judgment, making technical trade-offs between your teams short-term and long-term business needs, and the needs of the company as a whole. When confronted with discordant views, you find the best way forward and convince your team. You are vocally self-critical. You proactively contribute to knowledge-sharing across the Amazon analytical community. You demonstrate resilience and navigate difficult situations with composure and tact.

Primary Responsibilities:
Hire, manage, coach and lead a high performing global team of Business Analysts.
Engage with Lifecycle Services leadership and diversified customer groups to understand the needs and recommend business intelligence solutions that address key business questions.
Design, implement and support analytics solutions (forecasting, prediction, etc.) that enable Lifecycle Services leadership to manage the business. Build reporting and other technical data-driven solutions that support automation and streamlining of existing processes.
Design, implement, and support platforms that provide business teams ad-hoc access to large datasets (e.g., data visualization tools for non-tech business users).
Make recommendations for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve the operational and quality metrics.
Partner with Data engineering team to define the data elements and data structure that the team should leverage to enable analytical capabilities.
Participate in strategic & tactical planning discussions.
Interface with business customers, gathering requirements and delivering complete reporting solutions.
Perform business analysis to identify problems and opportunities with current operations as well as recommendations for future state solution.
Perform data-mining and analysis using tools including PeopleSoft, MS Excel and Amazon Redshift to identify trends and recommend opportunities for improvements.
Support the development of frustration-free Lifecycle Services processes by questioning and challenging current state with data, driving to the desired end state, and ensuring the voice of the customer is reflected in everything that we do.
Be connected and influential within the Amazon analyst community. Work with Data engineering, Software development teams to enable the appropriate capture and storage of key data points.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or other quantitative fields such as Mathematics, or Statistics or equivalent experience.
7+ years of relevant experience one of the following areas: data engineering, business intelligence or business analytics.
3+ years of experience in managing a team of Business Analysts or Business Intelligence Specialists.
3+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability in building and managing Business Intelligence solutions.
Demonstrated ability in defining, managing, and delivering a BI roadmap.
Experience in an analytical role with the ability to interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques to identify trends or patterns in complex data sets, and provide ongoing reports.
Experience providing leadership and mentorship to other business analysts on best practices in the data engineering space.
Able to communicate complex messages and outputs from their analysis in a confident and simple way, and the ability to train others in technical/analysis skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion.
Advanced working knowledge of SQL, ETL and Excel.
Experience with visualization technologies, such as Tableau or AWS QuickSight.
Technical expertise regarding data models and data mining.
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, R, Python, etc.).
Strong oral, written and presentation skills combined with the ability to lead group discussions and explaining complex solutions.
Strong customer engagement experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, BI Engineer, Business/Financial Analyst or Systems Analyst in a company with large, complex data sources.
Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets.
Experience leading a BI Center of Excellence is a plus.
Experience with scripting tools like Python is a strong plus.
Expert-level proficiency in writing complex, highly-optimized SQL queries across large datasets.
Experience in HR Operations, Recruitment, Staffing, Payroll, etc.
Green Belt Certification.
