As the company continues to grow, we are looking for Payroll Specialists having prior payroll experience in any of the following countries - Puerto Rico, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria and Kenya. The role requires to work as a Specialist with various internal and external teams in identifying the payroll vendor, system set up and establishing payroll operations. The role is a part of the Global Payroll Financial Operations team, based out of Hyderabad location. This position will champion the innovation needed to pay our employees accurately and on time, ensuring the highest customer obsession and controllership at the lowest cost to Amazon.
This position will be responsible for all the aspects of the country-wide Payroll Operations including: hiring, training, and employee development; managing group workload and establishing priorities; ensuring adherence to the existing policies and procedures; managing annual performance targets; and creating and monitoring appropriate performance metrics. This position will also act as an escalation point in resolving outstanding issues with internal and external business partners.
Core deliverables:
Manage payroll team and ensure Amazon employees get paid accurately and on time.
Lead payroll transition projects and support internal / external stakeholders on projects that involve / impact the pay for employees or the accounting process.
Perform deep dive analysis to establish accurate root cause and implement process controls to reduce the risk for payroll complaints.
Analyze and audit the payroll process. Resolve / escalate to the stakeholders team as necessary.
Provide accurate and timely response to inquiries or request raised by respective stakeholders.
Understand and anticipate the downstream impacts resulting from process, policy, system or legislation changes.
Continually strive to improve efficiency and effectiveness of existing systems and look for enhancements related to current systems and procedures based on KAIZEN and LEAN methodologies.
Provide clear communication to partners and employees when researching and resolving inquiries.
Track, measure and report on the Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics.
Demonstrate a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
Support scheduled and adhoc payroll tasks such as reporting, reconciliations, tax filings during the start or end of year, and maintaining annual employee earning records.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Post Graduate in Commerce, Accounting or Finance.
Expert at the basic and advanced concepts of the domain.
8+ years of prior experience in Payroll
Good communication (verbal and written)
Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills are a must have
Prior experience in managing service delivery/ HR operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in processing the payroll for Kenya
Certification in Process improvement initiatives projects such as GB, YB Lean certification
Ingenious in inventing new processes and approaches with vertical/org wise impact
Ability to coach others in understanding ambiguous and complex processes
Problem solving attitude to simplify payroll process and improve customer experience
Strong decision-making skills that display the fortitude to abide by ethical behavior, avoiding any negative impact on stakeholders
