Sourcing Manager, Resins & Latex Job in Akzo Nobel N.v.

Job Purpose

This management position is responsible for AN's regional raw material sourcing (including strategy, supplier selection and relationship management), as well as spend management (business awarding, contracting, risk management, QDCIS improvement) in a spend category and its associated supplier base, providing as well regional raw material market and supplier management expertise to AN.

Key Accountabilities

Developing and implementing sourcing activities in the region in alignment with AN s objectives and ALPS Source, such as:

• Responsible for commercial activities including contract negotiation, management, development, approval, implementation and maintenance.
• Creating and deploying applicable regional sourcing strategies (regional SSMs) per the category roadmap; Contributing to global sourcing strategies definition (global SSMs) as regional representative,
• Supplier selection and QDCIS improvement.
• Responsible for world-class supplier relationship management of key suppliers in his/her portfolio, directly managing top 3-5 Key suppliers for his area of responsibility
• Acting as key-interface between sourcing and regional RD&I teams (supplier innovation pipeline optimization and contribution to NPI support)
• Developing a rich pipeline of PR TCO reduction projects per AN Sourcing Financial objectives, and drive project maturing until execution by the regional Procurement team.
• Implementing Procurement Excellence within his/her area of responsibility.
• Regional raw material markets expertise, monitoring and forecasting; Translating new developments/concepts from the regional market into new opportunities
• Managing supply risk, and supporting escalated supply issues resolution
• Delegating to regional procurement specialists applicable local and tail spend
• Managing (0-2) Sourcing specialist (s- depending on size and complexity of assigned portfolio)

Key Accountabilities(2)

• Upon assignment by the Sourcing Director: KSM for key global supplier(s) based in the region, global category management of a subcategory concentrated in his/region
• Represent the global category in regional cross-functional forums and programs (Eg IBP, NPI, CM management, regional procurement programs and reviews)

Experience

• 10 years in a procurement, purchasing, or sourcing function (part of it in R&D, Ops or SC management also valued), preferably in the chemical/coating/automotive industries.
• 3 to 5 years managing a purchasing team, or in Category/Commodity/Spend Area management with experience in developing and deploying sourcing strategies
• Relevant experience in negotiating, contracting and managing regional suppliers at a Senior Level
• Proven success in driving supplier cost, quality and delivery performance improvement programs
• Understanding of the sourced category in terms of suppliers, market trends and technologies in the region is preferred.

Education

Bachelor or Master's Degree in Science, Engineering or Business managementor MBA preferred.
