Assistant Manager - Indirect Sourcing
Location: Bangalore
THE ROLE: The role is a pivotal position for managing event-related sourcing and supplier relationships within the India region. This involves overseeing RFx processes, contract negotiations, and purchase requests, as well as sourcing and managing suppliers for various event-related services including large-scale productions, AV rentals, venues, and licensing.
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders and leadership to assess departmental needs and challenges, ensuring alignment with regional and global event strategies.
- Sourcing Leadership: Oversee sourcing for categories such as event production, venue management, vacation packages, music licenses, and local permissions for national events.
- Category Strategy Development: Create and implement category strategies through comprehensive market and industry analysis.
- RFx Management: Lead the RFx process, contract negotiations, and BATNA execution to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, conducting periodic reviews to optimize processes and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including Events, Sales, Marketing, and regional offices to ensure seamless event execution and alignment.
- Data Analysis: Analyze spend data, supplier bases, and cost structures to drive strategic decisions and identify trends.
- Project Management: Oversee complex projects from initiation to completion, managing changes and ensuring successful implementation.
- Innovation and Improvement: Champion innovation, sustainability, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Research and Optimization: Conduct research on suppliers and industry trends to support vendor management and spend optimization efforts.
- Governance Compliance: Ensure adherence to governance policies and procedures, contributing to a strong governance culture.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Experience: 6-9 years in sourcing or procurement within the events or experiential marketing industry.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Oracle, COUPA, DMS, Adobe, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Communication Skills: Excellent public speaking, oral, and written communication abilities.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with events, exhibitions, entertainment, and MICE.
- Vendor Management: Strong skills in managing vendor relationships and negotiations.
- Project Management: Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Tech Savvy: Familiarity with sourcing technologies and ability to assess new tools and technologies.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
Education:
- Graduation Certification or equivalent qualification.
