The vRealize Cloud Automation engineering team is seeking an architect and technology leader who is passionate about owning technology strategy, architecture, design, and implementation of cloud services for cloud management across hybrid and multi-cloud. This candidate should be excited by the possibilities of technology innovation in cloud management, microservices, Kubernetes, and the customer experience in everything he/she constructs. Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional, distributed teams, including product managers, other architects, and existing engineering teams to create optimized solutions.
Architect, design, and implement high-quality software supporting a highly available, fault-tolerant SaaS platform.
Produce software designs to support long-term maintainability and extensibility of code.
Participate in all phases of the software development cycle as part of a Scrum team.
Work in multi-functional agile teams to regularly experiment, iterate, and deliver on new product objectives with end-to-end responsibility for your teams' goals.
Obsess over quality in the code you write and the product you create.
Be wholly engaged in the technology strategy, design, implementation, documentation of system architecture initiatives, and development life cycles.
Stays hands-on in engineering activities around architecture, design, and development
Lead design discussions and perform design, code reviews
Create and nurture a culture of technical excellence and innovation. Mentor engineers for their professional growth.
Required Skills:
8+ years of experience with significant depth in architecting, designing, and developing large-scale, highly distributed, scalable, and performant commercial products.
Experience in developing microservices hosted in leading cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or other), and deep knowledge of Kubernetes
Experience with API and REST-based microservice development.
Experience with cloud-based distributed application scaling.
Expert level proficiency in Java, Spring, and Postgres.
Experience with data technologies (Relational as well as NoSQL) and Messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Full-stack development experience (Node, Spring, Java, Postgres, Angular), preferred.
Experience with secure development life cycle practices and analysis of vulnerabilities reported by security assessment tools (Nessus, Fortify)
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
An understanding of team and individual goals and are motivated to accomplish them
A desire to work in an environment where you will teach and learn.
