About VMWare NSX:

VMware NSX is a network virtualization platform that delivers the operational model of a virtual machine for the network. Virtual networks reproduce the network model in software, allowing complex multi-tier network topologies to be created and provisioned programmatically in seconds. NSX includes a library of logical networking services logical switches, logical routers, logical firewalls, logical load balancers, logical VPN, QoS, and distributed security. A self-service interface allows users to create custom combinations of these services in isolated software-based virtual networks that support existing applications without modification or deliver unique requirements for new application workloads. Similar to virtual machines in compute, virtual networks are programmatically provisioned and managed independent of networking hardware. Decoupling from hardware introduces agility, speed and operational efficiency that has transformed data center economics.

As a Member of the Edge Team, the candidate will work on next generation virtualization products. This includes the management plane features and virtualization features in Networking and Security area. In this role the candidate must be able to go deep in several technical areas related to security, firewall, IDS, IPS etc. The candidate will understand the current state of the art and the pros/cons of various approaches. The candidate will need to have strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, and deliver quality product.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Candidate should be a technical expert in Network Security products specifically in Firewall technology. Candidate should have in-depth knowledge about Implementation scenarios, configuration and troubleshooting of Firewall related workflows.
• In-depth knowledge in Security Domain.
• Candidate must to have knowledge on Firewall, IDS, IPS, MITM, Anti-Malware, Cloud Security etc.
• Candidate should have very strong fundamental "core" networking skills, with thorough knowledge of TCP/IP Protocol suite, OSI layered architecture and should be able to relate that knowledge in troubleshooting related issues
• Proven knowledge and practical application of Security, Firewalls, access and perimeter control, vulnerability management and intrusion detection.
• Python programming skill is MUST.
• Knowledge of networking, routing, packet capture and analysis is mandatory.
• Software engineering (QA methodologies)
• Test automation methodologies

Requirements

• Excellent communication skill.
• Bachelor or Masters degree in Engineering from a reputed university
• 6 + years of industry experience in security domain.
• Key Skills: Firewall, IDS/IPS, Security
• Other Skills: Perl,Python, Shell, REST(Expertise in at least one script language knowledge of the following is good to have)
