Unisys is looking for senior, experienced engineerswho will be leading the junior engineers on various Operating System related technologies such as programming languages, compilers, databases and core computer science concepts, to drive the establishment of ClearPath competency at Unisys India Technology Center.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Work in an engineering team and understand the portfolio of the products, the technical architecture, tools, processes, etc.
• Interface with engineers from other labs of Technology to understand the product/technical architecture, understand the big picture to gain mastery of the products architecture in the portfolio
• Mentor and coach mid-level/junior engineers to solve technical challenges
• Create and implement architectural training sessions on the job as well as in a training lab
• Be responsible for the architecture of a suite of products and make suitable decisions in the construction and release of the products to market
• Participate in discussions to conceptualize and prioritize the product requirements with internal and external stakeholders
• Visit the customer locations to troubleshoot issues and challenges in the adaptation of our products and solutions by the customers
• Performance tune the applications to ensure the competitiveness of our products and solutions in the market place
• Understand the competition and market needs to help Unisys stay abreast of competition by fine tuning our products/solutions constantly
• Represent Unisys in technical forums and seminars
• Interface with Engineerings partners like Customers, Marketing, CSC, TSS, Services, etc. and lead technical discussions in complex engagements and emerging business models.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Qualification BE / Masters in Computer Science or equivalent

Experience 13 to 17 Yrs

Primary Skills

• Ability to define architecture for System Software, Client-Server Products
• Ability to understand, evaluate and propose new features for existing and upcoming products
• Ability to provide architectural and design artifacts for Systems/Networking products.
• Strong domain knowledge and exposure to different technologies
• Systems and network programming experience
• Experience on ClearPath MCP / OS 2200 would be an added plus
• Deep knowledge of Product engineering life cycle
• Specialized knowledge in one or more technical areas encompassing the software and hardware engineering and integrated technology stacks
• Understanding of systems engineering and the architectural frameworks
• Proven ability to solve customers business problems by leveraging technical solutions
• Deep understanding of Global engineering environment and ability to provide technical leadership in cross-cultural teams
• Prior experience in mentoring and coaching junior and high potential engineering teams to sharpen the technical skills and improve productivity in complex technical environments
• Ability to lead conceptual research projects and take the results / prototypes to large scale engineering projects.

For Operating System:

• Experience with operating System, transaction processing, TCP/IP network programming
• Extensive experience working on compiler internals e.g., syntax processing, optimization, code generation techniques, etc.
• Experience in design and development of Database internals
• Specialized knowledge in Networking domain and Systems programming.
• Working experience with hands on experience in C,C++,VC++ (MFC, COMS), Windows Shell Programming, Windows File System Programming (SMB), Networking (TCPIP, Data Link Layer), Object Oriented System Design, Security (SSL, Encryption and Decryption Methods), I18N and Localization Methods

Secondary Skills

• Understanding of C++, Microsoft Visual Studio/.NET, Windows APIs, Microsoft Visual SourceSafe.
• Individual contributor, Leadership & team player, communication skills
• Exposure to a culture of Devops would be an added advantage
• Good Verbal and written communication skills
