Job Summary

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional with over 8 years of experience in payroll operations, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role. As the Payroll Team Manager, you will lead your team to implement best practices and build a world-class organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the payroll team to ensure they exceed customer service level agreements (SLAs) while implementing best practices.
  • Payroll Expertise: Maintain a thorough understanding of internal controls related to payroll functions and oversee end-to-end U.S. payroll processes.
  • Customer Relations: Effectively manage challenging customer communications and foster strong working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting to relevant departments.
  • Innovation Encouragement: Motivate team members to submit process innovation ideas, aiming for at least one submission per quarter.
  • Talent Development: Responsible for hiring, training, and developing team members, conducting one-on-one meetings, and providing performance reviews.
  • Performance Management: Address performance issues promptly to give employees a chance to improve, focusing on individual development.
  • Multi-tasking and Problem Solving: Ability to juggle projects and tactical operational details while assisting others through challenging situations.
  • System Maintenance: Develop, implement, and uphold systems, procedures, and policies to ensure compliance with company guidelines.
  • KPI Management: Ensure that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met for the team and generate operational metrics to track performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain regular contact with stakeholders to gather feedback and identify areas for growth.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 8 to 12 years of work experience, with the last 5 years in U.S. payroll or HCM.
  • Management Skills: 3+ years of management experience leading a team of at least 5-8 members.
  • Payroll Knowledge: Excellent understanding of end-to-end U.S. payroll processes, with experience in project implementation and extensive knowledge of UKG Pro.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with UKG Pro is an advantage.
  • Certifications: FPC certification is preferred.
