UKG is a leading provider of strategic HR, payroll, and talent management solutions for organizations of all sizes. We are currently seeking an energetic, analytical, highly detail-oriented individual to work on the Mindful AI team within the Product Development department. The preferred candidate must be able to help lead our team in designing and developing the next generation of AI applications using microservices in technologies such as Java, Python, and GCP. Some of the primary responsibilities include mentoring team members, monitoring processes, conducting quality audits, and other duties assigned by the Manager. This role is critical for the ongoing support of team goals and improving performance efficiencies. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships. At times, the Tech Lead might be asked to work on a variety of complicated initiatives requiring considerable judgement.

Primary Responsibilities:
Mentor developers on the team, fostering an environment of continued learning and improvement.
Empower the team to deliver quality software in a timely manner and continuously improve the development process.
Build and maintain strong peer relationships within the team and across the organization.
Enjoy working in a collaborative environment with a diverse group of people partnering effectively with the team members, partners, and customers.
Implementation of architectural and technical designs for complex features.
Responsible for maximizing the maintainability and extensibility of the solutions.
Research, design, test, and evaluate technologies for the Mindful AI suite of applications.
Evaluate, recommend, and proposed solutions to existing systems.
Write high-quality code, that is supported by an appropriate level of testing and metrics.
Develop system documentation, technical user guides, technical how to videos, user how to videos, policies, procedures and guidelines for team members and business users.
Assist and adhere to enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.

Requirements:

10+ years of Software development experience including: object-oriented programming, concurrency programming, modern design patterns, RESTful service implementation, micro-service architecture, test-driven development, and acceptance testing.
Familiarity with tools used to automate the deployment of an enterprise software solution to the cloud, Terraform, Concourse, Ansible, etc.
Proficiency with Git as a version control system
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB and MSSQL.
Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, Scala, etc.
Experience with testing tools such as PyTest, Wiremock, xUnit, mocking frameworks, etc.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
Experience with GCP a big plus.
