About the Role

As Senior Engineering Manager (L5) on the Flex Experiences team, you will lead engineering efforts for persona-driven UI/UX experiences within Twilio Flex our highly customizable contact center platform. You ll oversee multiple engineering workstreams and drive innovation, quality, and scalability in a mission-critical SaaS environment.

What You ll Do

• Lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for building rich agent/supervisor experiences in Twilio Flex.
• Mentor, develop, and grow team members while promoting a collaborative, high-ownership culture.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable, performant software solutions.
• Own and manage architectural decisions for modern frontend and backend systems in a cloud-native environment.
• Advocate agile methodologies, CI/CD best practices, and test automation.
• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and operations teams to ship impactful, customer-centric features.
• Ensure operational excellence through rigorous monitoring, observability, and post-production support.
• Champion clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 14+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years of engineering leadership.
• Proven experience managing and scaling multiple engineering workstreams.
• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent field.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of:
  • Frontend development: JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, design systems (e.g., Paste)
  • Testing frameworks: Cypress, Selenium
  • Backend & Infrastructure: REST APIs, Aurora, DynamoDB, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Cloud-native architecture and CI/CD pipelines
  • SaaS observability tools: Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Mixpanel
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams operating 24/7 cloud services.
• Strong communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with voice/digital communication systems.
• Deep familiarity with contact center platforms and customer engagement solutions.

Location & Travel

• Remote role within India (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra, or New Delhi).
• Occasional travel may be required for project or team-related meetups.
