Technical Principal:principal Consultant Developer Job in Thoughtworks

As a Technical Principal, you will provide strategic and tactical leadership on accounts, establishing and maintaining trusted advisor status through high-impact client interaction. By empowering Thoughtworker engagement through cultivating high-performing teams, you will continuously deliver undeniable value to our clients, contributing to the growth and scale of our evolving business. Ultimately, the health of an account is a reflection of the capability and efficiency that you cultivate.

Job Responsibilities

• You act as an advisor to C-level executives to define and deliver the technical strategy
• Build out a new capability within ThoughtWorks - perhaps for Mobile, Big Data or DevOps
• You will assess client needs and develop the account strategy and proactive proposals needed to deliver value to our client
• Speak to the value of our delivery and how it maps to client vision, goals, and initiatives
• Continuously deliver undeniable value by ensuring the high performance of Thoughtworks teams on the account and proactively manage risk with the client
• Cultivate Thoughtworker growth and development by encouraging feedback and fostering an inclusive, supportive team culture
• You're comfortable chairing meetings, conducting reports, providing technical sales support and keeping budgets in check
• Ensure security, privacy, and legal compliance across the account

Job Qualifications

Technical Skills

• You have significant experience (15+ years) and a thorough understanding of different architectures, tools & languages
• You have had significant exposure in projects involving distributed architectures, labyrinthine codebases and complex business domains in the role of a Technical Architect / Engineering Manager
• You have worked with Big Data stacks (preferably involving Apache Spark) for at least 1 year or more
• You have some working knowledge on DevOps and Infrastructure Automation stacks
• You love coding. Even if your recent roles have taken you away from being as hands-on as you might like, you've no doubt found other ways to keep your coding skills from getting too rusty and we expect that you'll have had exposure to recent technologies
• You have a rich breadth of experience and are equally comfortable talking about financial projections or business process modelling as you are advocating for TDD
• You have experience with two or more languages such as Core Java/Java EE/C#/Ruby on Rails/Python/Golang/Scala/Clojure.
• You really understand the business context of the challenges that organisations face and distinguish yourself in the way you articulate this with clients to create and deliver robust, scalable, elegant, flexible and relevant software solutions that truly transform industries

• You have the credibility and gravitas to operate to work closely with our demand team on pre-sales

• You thrive in situations where you are given little to no direction and have the ability to lead, organize and deliver commitments on time and within budget

• Empathy comes naturally to you and you use it to build solid working relationships and resolve issues quickly and thoughtfully
