Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Health Technician to join our healthcare team. As a Health Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of medical care by assisting healthcare professionals with diagnostic, therapeutic, and administrative tasks. You will work directly with patients, manage medical equipment, and ensure a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care Support: Assist in the preparation and positioning of patients for medical examinations and treatments. Monitor and record patient vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration). Medical Equipment Management: Operate, maintain, and sterilize medical equipment and instruments. Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and ready for use during patient procedures. Lab Support: Collect and process patient specimens (e.g., blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory analysis, following established protocols and safety procedures. Patient Education: Provide patients with basic instructions on preparing for medical procedures, such as fasting, taking medications, or wearing appropriate clothing. Clinical Assistance: Assist doctors, nurses, or other healthcare professionals during examinations or medical procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients. Medical Records Management: Update and maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Ensure all documentation is completed in compliance with confidentiality standards. Infection Control: Follow infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, sterilization of medical instruments, and maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. Administrative Support: Schedule patient appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate with other healthcare providers or departments as necessary. Patient Safety: Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout their visit. Observe and report any changes in the patient s condition to the appropriate medical staff. Emergency Assistance: Provide basic first aid and support in emergency situations until further medical care can be provided. Qualifications: Education: A high school diploma or equivalent. Certification in a relevant healthcare field (e.g., Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or other relevant certifications) is preferred. Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is a plus but not required. On-the-job training may be provided. Technical Skills: Ability to operate medical equipment such as thermometers, blood pressure cuffs, EKG machines, etc. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medical documentation and patient care tasks. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain medical procedures to patients and interact effectively with healthcare professionals and patients. Compassionate Nature: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide care in a compassionate and professional manner. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and assist patients, and perform various physical tasks in a medical setting. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think critically and respond quickly in medical emergencies. Preferred Skills: Medical Terminology: Knowledge of basic medical terminology is an advantage. Certifications: Additional certifications in healthcare-related fields, such as CPR, First Aid, or phlebotomy, are preferred. Multitasking Ability: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
