Job Summary
Job Title: Team Lead - Product Engineering Location: Pune Experience: 15-18 Years Job Description: We are looking for a highly skilled Team Lead - Product Engineering to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 15-18 years of experience in product engineering, particularly in new product development (NPD), systems integration, and design optimization. You will lead cross-functional teams and play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing products, ensuring that they meet performance, cost, and quality objectives. Key Responsibilities: Product Design & Development: Lead the design and development of new products (NPD), ensuring compliance with manufacturing processes and system integration requirements. Cost Optimization: Drive initiatives to reduce costs through Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) processes, identifying opportunities to improve product cost-effectiveness. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with global cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to meet project targets and deliver high-quality products. New Product Performance: Oversee new product performance analysis and basic design calculations to ensure products meet the required specifications and standards. Project Execution: Lead the execution of projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets and specifications. Develop and track detailed timing plans for components and systems. Technical Mentorship: Act as a technical mentor to the team, providing guidance on best practices and design reviews. Design Review & Approval: Review and approve design proposals based on project requirements and statements of work, presenting findings to stakeholders and customers. Value Engineering Projects: Undertake value engineering initiatives to add new features to products and make them more cost-effective, without compromising on quality or functionality. Variant Management: Manage variants of products and ensure that project-specific communication and standardization targets are met. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's or Master s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 15-18 years of experience in product engineering, with a strong focus on design, development, and systems integration. Proven experience in leading teams and managing projects in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Strong understanding of the design process, including cost reduction techniques and VAVE. Hands-on experience with new product development and the ability to work across various design phases. Ability to work effectively with global teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on product optimization. Experience in managing product variants and meeting standardization targets. Knowledge of performance testing and basic design calculations for product development.
