Job Summary We are seeking a High Voltage (HV) Electrical Systems Engineer to join our battery development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and integrating high voltage electrical systems tailored for battery applications. Reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager, you will focus on ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability of high voltage battery pack systems, while managing the development of DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) documents and contributing to continuous improvement efforts within the team. Key Responsibilities: DFMEA Development & Failure Prevention: Lead the development of DFMEA documents to identify potential failure modes and develop mitigation strategies for high voltage battery pack systems. Integrate DFMEA with the overall requirements deck and develop associated deliverables (boundary diagrams, interface matrices, P-Diagrams) to support failure mode avoidance. Implement preventive recurrence actions based on DFMEA to eliminate or mitigate potential failure modes and ensure the reliability and safety of battery pack systems. Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions. Establish links between root cause analysis findings and preventive recurrence action plans for continuous improvement. Manufacturing & Supplier Quality Collaboration: Interface with manufacturing teams to ensure quality considerations are integrated into the manufacturing processes, including process control plans and quality assurance procedures. Collaborate with supplier quality teams to define quality requirements for components and materials, conducting supplier audits and assessments to improve supplier quality performance. Incorporate supplier quality requirements into DFMEA and preventive recurrence action plans to maintain high standards of quality. Continuous Improvement & Lean Six Sigma: Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Apply Lean Six Sigma principles to streamline processes, eliminate waste, and improve overall product quality and performance. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of quality activities, including DFMEA reports, preventive recurrence action plans, and quality performance metrics. Generate regular reports to track progress, identify improvement opportunities, and communicate quality status to stakeholders. Collaboration & Design Responsibilities: Contribute to the design and development of HV battery packs, ensuring optimal integration and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve milestones for tests, audits, and compliance. Drive innovation and efficiency within the Virtual Engineering team, proposing design concepts for cell-to-pack integration and supporting technical discussions. Ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements through a documented Design Verification Plan (DVP). Collaborate with stakeholders to agree and sign off on system/component requirements for each domain. System Strategy & Functional Safety: Participate in vehicle system architecture and strategy discussions to meet vehicle requirements and ensure functional safety requirements are captured. Monitor system issues, drive corrective actions, and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into component/system requirements. Propose and assess system HV strategies, develop improvements to vehicle and component-level strategies, and gain buy-in from stakeholders. Qualifications & Experience: Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in HV battery development, with hands-on experience in DFMEA, supplier quality management, and cross-functional collaboration. Technical Skills: Knowledge of high voltage battery systems, functional safety (ISO 26262), and quality standards in automotive manufacturing. Collaboration Skills: Proven experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing teams, suppliers, and technical stakeholders. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to automotive manufacturing and quality standards. Benefits: Competitive salary and performance-based incentives. Opportunities for career growth and skill development in a high-impact engineering role. Exposure to cutting-edge technologies and global engineering projects.
