Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute the synthesis of target molecules
  • Effectively trouble-shoot problems and proactively seek alternate routes for synthesis of target molecules
  • Ensure that safety protocols are always followed, and the experimental details are written up in Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) or pLNB contemporaneously
  • Day to day management and coaching of 3 to 4 chemists
  • Actively engage talent in order to minimize risk of regrettable losses through attrition
  • Optimise talent management processes in order to maintain a core talent pool
  • Ensure regular client communication via multiple vehicles, including video/audio conferences, emails
  • Explore and acquire knowledge in new areas of chemistry.
  • Maintain and report on the productivity metrics.
  • Continually demonstrate unwavering focus on the discovery and development of novel therapeutics that improve the lives of people suffering from serious diseases, exceptional creativity and innovation in the genuine spirit of collaboration and core commitment to safety, integrity, compliance, quality, and service
  • Possess the knowledge and exposure to environment, health, and safety (EHS) practices?
  • Follow environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements at all times in the workplace ensuring individual and lab/plant safety?
  • Ensure environment, health, and safety (EHS) measures are imparted via training and adhered within the team

Educational Qualification:

  • PhD in Organic/ Medicinal Chemistry or PDF

Technical/functional Skills:

  • Experience in multistep synthesis and demonstrated ability to solve complex organic synthesis problems
  • Strong comprehension of recent advances in organic chemistry techniques and its application
  • Strong understanding of the different analytical techniques for compound characterization
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Familiarity with biological concepts to contribute effectively in integrated drug discovery projects
  • Analytical strengths and high trouble shooting ability

Experience:

  • 3-6 years post qualification
