Job Purpose
The role is for Downstream process development, process characterization and technology transfer. It will support the execution/guiding of downstream experiments, analysis, interpretation of data, communication and documentation. The process includes all activities related to process development and technology transfer.
It is incumbent to comply with the QMS, safety systems and technical administrative work in the labs.
The role will involve understand and plan the experiments with minimal supervision. Execute/guide the fellow executive in Downstream process development experiments. Analyze and interpret data. Updating technical information in meetings or to Team Leader and other team members to deciding action plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute laboratory experiments and documenting them in details in laboratory note book and in soft copies.
Draft experimental protocol and getting it reviewed by the team lead.
Forecasting of material required in a given project where he has been assigned a role.
Maintain Lab compliance.
Possess the knowledge and exposure to environment, health, and safety (EHS) practices
Follow environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements at all times in the workplace ensuring individual and lab/plant safety
Ensure environment, health, and safety (EHS) measures are imparted via training and adhered within the team
Educational Qualification:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Chemical Engineering
Technical/functional Skills:
Candidate must have knowledge of downstream unit operations for large molecule.
Preferred candidate should have worked on Mammalian cell culture derived Monoclonal antibody and/or non- Monoclonal antibody protein.
Applicant must be conversant with interpretation of analytical and process data (e.g. Proteins).
Should be conversant with downstream process Scale-Up principles and Should be involve in at least one scale-up related activity.
Should be well acquainted with Quality by Design principles and developed process using Design of experiments approach
Proficient in handling of Chromatographic systems.
Possess good communication skills (written and oral Communication), Good at documentation skills (Report Preparation, SOP's, etc)
Should possess a sound knowledge of operating Tangential flow filtration and interpreting experimental results using standard tools.
Should be proficient in MS excel
Experience:
6-12 years post qualification
Behavioural Skills:
Should have the capability to work in a team and ability to handle demonstrate a good team spirit.
While possessing a good ability to follow instruction should also demonstrate innovative in his/her approach, good communication skills.
Should be proactive while working on allotted responsibility.
