Key Responsibilities:
Provide scientific leadership, strategic insight, and tactical guidance to drive multiple (6 - 8) therapeutic discovery projects from lead generation through to clinical candidate selection across varied therapeutic areas, primarily executed through coordination of medicinal chemists
Serve as a member of project Core Teams, working collaboratively with colleagues from Biology, Translational Sciences, DMPK, Safety Assessment, and Research Informatics to deliver key milestones and ultimately first-in-class and/or best-in-class clinical candidates
Liaise with the scientific leadership team of our clients to align on project deliverables and timelines, and ensure appropriate resources are allocated to meet these commitments
Invest time, mentoring and training team members, on application of domain knowledge in the context of integrated drug discovery projects
Maintain the highest level of scientific rigor and professionalism within our organization

Educational Qualification:
PhD or PDF
Technical/Functional Skills:
To lead a medicinal chemistry team driving projects from hit identification through to clinical candidate nomination
Strong scientific reputation, as evidenced by publications, patents, and invited presentations
Understanding of fundamental principles for related disciplines, such as disease biology, DMPK, and safety assessment
IND preparation and submission
Ability to work in a matrix environment and experience working in a global environment
Experience:
15-17 years post qualification
