Job Summary
Job Description
Applications are invited for Research Assistant position in Swabhiman for conducting disability profiling of Odisha state in the context of RPwD Act 2016 implementation and inclusive SDGs..
Minimum eligibility condition
1. Master s degree in social sciences (preferably Economics) from any recognized University having research experience of at least 2 years in handling Research Projects. 2. Knowledge of data analysis using statistical methods 3. Excellent attention to detail 4. The ability to meet deadlines, work independently and manage time effectively 5. Software knowledge: Candidate should be able to work with Microsoft Office, SPSS/ 6. STATA data analysis software and editing tools.
Who are we looking for?
In addition, we look for the following qualities:
1. Having worked in research projects in NGOs, Academic institutions 2. Candidates having Mphil/PhD Degree 3. A cademic publications if any: including newspaper article, journal publication, book publication etc. 4. Strong academic writing skills and ideally a publication record 5. Familiarity with the conventions and terminology of papers in disability sector
Job duties will include, but not be limited to:
1. Developing research design and doing research analysis and reporting of the pan Odisha disability profiling of Odisha. 2. Developing the socio-economic indicators necessary for the disability profile of the State. 3. Developing the research design, mode of data collection and pilot the project in the field. 4. Identifying and selecting relevant studies 5. Willing to travel to field locations as and when required 6. Collecting, summarizing and presenting the available research evidence and key research findings on this topic. 7. Charting data 8. Conducting the data analysis work. 9. Collating, summarizing and reporting findings to the Research Team Lead. 10. Organising sharing workshops with government, Media and NGOs. 11. Preparing the final document for publication. Producing 3 publications for journals of repute. 12. Cataloguing universities/libraries/online sites to send publication to. 13. Working under the supervision of Research Team Lead.
Time Period
Project period is 12 months starting July 14, 2021.
Age
Age of the candidate should not be more than 40 years
Salary
Starting with 25K per month for freshers, it is negotiable based on papers published, journal reputation, institutions/experts with whom worked, understanding of disability and clarity of response during interview.
