Job Summary

Job Brief

We are looking for an experienced WordPress developer to join our IT team. You will be responsible for the server side of our web applications.

If you have excellent programming skills and a passion for developing applications or improving existing ones, we would like to meet you. As a core developer, you ll work closely with our engineers to ensure system consistency and improve user experience.

Ultimately, you should be able to develop and maintain functional and stable web applications to meet our company s needs.

Must Have Skills

  • Minimum 2 years experience of PHP programming, MySQL, XHTML, CSS, Javascript
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of building WordPress CMS websites using the best practice & de facto standard plugins
  • Experience working with WordPress at a PHP code level:
    • Knowledge of existing inbuilt WordPress functions.
    • Creation of custom post types.
    • Creation of plugins/widgets written to conform with WordPress coding standards.
    • Creation of clean, logical, well documented and re usable code.
    • Theme/template integration.
    • Knowledge of WordPress Network (Multisite) beneficial.
  • Experience creating multilingual websites.
  • Good understanding of cross -platform and cross- browser issues.
  • Experience with creating responsive websites.
  • Use of jQuery / AJAX / Prototype / script.aculo.us an advantage.
  • Previous experience working for a design agency advantageous.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop high-end WordPress plugins using Classes and utilizing WP filters and actions
  • Coordinate with co-developersand keeps project manager well informed of the status of development effort and serves as a liaison between development staff and project manager.
  • Lead the entire web application development life cycle right from concept stage to delivery and post launch support
  • Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in web development
