This is a challenging position that will call on the engineer to utilize a variety of skills. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining software related to SonicWall NGFW products. SonicWall is an industry leader in NGFW and your contributions will have major impact in security industry. The engineer should be well experienced in core networking technologies. You will also be working closely with multiple cross-functional engineering teams, potentially located in multiple time zones, to arrive at innovative design solutions. Direction will be provided but the engineer must be able to work well independently and have initiative to identify and solve problems proactively.

TEST ENGINEER BANGALORE

You will be responsible for all aspects of the SonicWall Security products. We are looking for a Test Engineer to perform testing and test automation of the SonicWall products. You will be developing the test cases for new features, new features testing, regression, performance and longevity testing. Create test beds, troubleshoot the issues, discover bugs, debug and analyze the causes, track using bug tracking tool and verify the fixes. Do test automation, redesign the test automation framework as needed, run the automated scripts for regression.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop test plans and test cases based on the marketing and design requirements for new features or update existing features as appropriate.
Validate the design and test new features, functionalities thoroughly providing thorough coverage to features testing.
Do regression, performance and stability testing.
Discover the bugs, file them using bug tracking tool, verify bugs after the fix and track the bug status.
Analyze the issues discovered, narrow down the causes, and provide the required information to developers, trouble shoot the setup and environmental issues.
Create and maintain test beds.
Reproduce the customer reported bugs, verify the fix and convert it to test case.
Participate in Test Automation framework design.
Automate test cases using PYTHON, PERL or any other tool selected.
Review automation tests of the peers in the team
Review test plans designed by the team and provide feedback.
Develop expertise in product domain testing and guide newly joined engineers.
Document the domain knowledge acquired and the required steps/procedures that helps to do the job better.
Learn necessary tools to facilitate the responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience in testing Email Security or Network Security or Networking Domain.
Experience in designing the test cases based on requirement/functional specifications.
Experience in in testbed configuration, maintaining test beds and troubleshooting the setup/environmental issues.
Experience in analyzing the issues discovered and narrowing down the causes
Experience in test automation using PYTHON, PERL or similar.
Knowledge of API testing tools (e.g. Postman, Fiddler)
Experience in developing automated test frameworks in Networking/Cloud domain
Strong knowledge of the TCP/IP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS, LDAP, Network Security
Working knowledge of ESXi VMware, Hyper-V, MySQL Database or similar.
Understanding of Microsoft technologies like O365, Exchange server-mail delivery.
Knowledge of Linux/Unix, Networking, Firewalls and Email Security
Ability to track defects from discovery through resolution
Ability to learn and understand complex systems and technical issues
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to perform various test activities including functional, boundary, error, data analysis, performance, stress and load testing.
Strong customer focus and able to work under time pressure
Devotion to producing high quality, high performance systems
Possess good written and verbal communication skills. Must utilize these skills to communicate effectively across all groups in the organization

Desirable skills:

Exposure to Cloud computing (AWS experience a plus)
Working in Software security domain and products would be a strong plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

B.E./B.Tech. Computers, MCA/M.E./M.Tech Computers or the equivalent
Minimum of 4 - 5 years of solid experience in the Software QA & automation
