Software Engineer - Wordpress Job in Sigma Infosolutions

We are looking for a skilled WordPress Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing custom WordPress modules and integrating third-party APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop custom WordPress plugins and modules to extend the core functionality of WordPress.
• Implement custom themes and templates based on project specifications.
• Ensure code is modular, clean, and adheres to WordPress coding standards.
• Integrate third-party APIs (RESTful APIs, GraphQL) with WordPress for various features and services.
• Develop and maintain API endpoints to facilitate communication between WordPress and external systems.
• Work with OAuth, JWT, and other authentication/authorization methods to secure API interactions.
• Optimize WordPress websites for speed, scalability, and security.
• Implement best practices for performance (caching, database optimization) and WordPress security (firewalls, malware detection).
• Work with designers and other developers to implement UI/UX features and functionalities.
• Debug and troubleshoot technical issues across the WordPress platform.
• Collaborate in version control workflows (Git) and participate in code reviews.
  

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 4-5 years of experience in WordPress development.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (jQuery), and Bootstrap.
• Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and custom theme/plugin development.
• Experience with page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery, Divi) and Gutenberg editor.
• Familiarity with modern web development workflows, including Git, Composer, and NPM.
• Strong understanding of SEO best practices and implementation within WordPress.
• Experience with cross-browser compatibility, web standards, and responsive design.
• Familiarity with website security and performance optimization.
• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and AJAX.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Experience with custom post types and advanced custom fields (ACF).
• Familiarity with WordPress multisite configuration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with eCommerce platforms like WooCommerce.
• Knowledge of UI/UX design principles.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies.
