About the Role

rtCamp is looking for a proactive and experienced Lead React Engineer to join and guide our technical team. In this leadership role, you ll be responsible for designing scalable and high-quality software solutions, making critical architectural decisions, and mentoring fellow developers to follow industry best practices.

As a Lead React Engineer, you ll actively contribute to coding, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help shape the technical direction of our projects.

This is a full-time, remote position open to candidates worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for React-based projects, ensuring the technical implementation aligns with project goals.
• Drive high-level design decisions, defining best practices, and ensuring consistent coding standards across the team.
• Develop and demonstrate proof of concept (POC) solutions to validate design approaches.
• Architect solutions that are secure, scalable, and performance-optimized.
• Collaborate closely with other teams, including backend engineers, designers, and project managers, to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to the development team, conducting code reviews and fostering a culture of learning.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
• Communicate technical solutions, design rationale, and project updates effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify risks early, propose mitigations, and ensure projects stay on track.
• Establish and oversee robust processes for testing, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, tools, and frameworks, continuously bringing fresh ideas to the team.

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience as a JavaScript/React.js Developer, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong experience with TypeScript, Next.js, and writing scalable CSS.
• Proficiency with state management libraries such as Redux or Zustand.
• Hands-on experience with user authentication, especially using JSON Web Tokens (JWT).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, including experience mentoring and guiding junior developers.
• Solid grasp of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience working with other JavaScript frameworks/libraries.
• Familiarity with WordPress Gutenberg block development.
• Experience building React Native mobile applications.
• Prior contributions to open-source projects, technical writing, or speaking at tech events.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and tools.
• Experience working in a fully remote, distributed team.
