About the Role

As an Associate Quality Assurance Engineer, you will work closely with senior team members to enhance product quality and contribute to the successful delivery of client projects through exploratory and automated testing. This fully remote role offers an excellent opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Initially, you will assist an experienced QA engineer with small to medium-sized tasks, receiving regular feedback and guidance to build a solid understanding of QA processes and responsibilities.
• Over time, you will take ownership of all stages within the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), including:
  • Requirement Analysis & Planning: Understanding testing requirements, contributing to test planning, and drafting comprehensive test cases and scripts based on user stories.
  • Test Execution & Defect Management: Setting up test environments, executing functional, UI, and automated tests, documenting defects, and working closely with developers to ensure quick resolution.
  • Closure & Documentation: Summarizing test results, participating in retrospectives, and managing end-user documentation to enhance application usability.
• Actively participate in sprint ceremonies, ensuring effective communication of any blockers or challenges you encounter.
• Primarily work on WordPress-based websites and web applications, focusing on both frontend and backend quality assurance.

Must-Have Skills

• Solid understanding of core testing concepts, including functional, UI, and API testing, with practical experience in web applications and test management tools.
• Basic automation skills to write and execute simple automated test cases (such as form validation) using relevant frameworks or tools. Familiarity with version control systems like Git/GitHub is essential.
• Technical proficiency, including basic knowledge of HTML/CSS, JavaScript, SQL (for database queries), browser DevTools, and command-line utilities for debugging and testing.
• Strong analytical thinking, excellent attention to detail, and clear communication skills (both written and verbal) in English.
• A learning mindset with the ability to adapt to evolving requirements and processes, along with openness to constructive feedback.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and corresponding QA practices.
• Hands-on experience working with WordPress.
• Practical experience writing automated tests using either JavaScript or Python (preferred over Java).
