Key Responsibilities: Test planning Understand the project and testing objectives Do an overall planning of project activities Estimate collective efforts needed by the project team and distribute activities among the team Design test cases with no supervision Do peer reviews and help juniors in planning Test Execution Use existing tools and techniques to execute test cases written by self or other testers Generate and publish execution metrics regularly Issue reporting and verification Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate using existing issue tracking tool by following the established guidelines. Verify all self-reported or assigned issues after they are resolved. Test automation Use existing automation tools and environment to write basic automation scripts. Analyze automation failures, maintain scripts and report regressions if any. Process Adherence Follow the agile software development process as defined by the project team Display commitment towards expected and promised deliverables without need for follow-ups Recommend process improvements Competency development Show the willingness and self-drive to upgrade the technical competency on regular basis Adhere to competency development plan drawn out in consultation with TL Key Competencies/Skills Technical/Functional Sound knowledge on industry standard SDLC and STLC, latest testing trends, automation frameworks, etc. 9-12 years of experience of testing mechanical domain software (e.g., CAD/CAE) Good understanding Client domain, products, business priorities Sound knowledge of advanced software testing principles. Experience of various nonfunctional testing methodologies Strong passion for testing and deep technical problem-solving skills Should be able to understand the technicalities of the requirements for the software applications and convert them to user-oriented test scenarios. Knowledge of test automation and Python programming language would be a bonus. Exposure to any industry standard bug tracking tool e.g. Jira, YouTrack, Bugzilla, etc. Experience of testing both standalone and web-based applications. Experience of testing mobile apps will be an added advantage.
