Job Accountabilities (duties and responsibilities). 1. Handle matters related to Customs Clearance of Material / Rigs / Vessels and delivery of goods as per purchase order / Contract. 2. Supplier Relations: Build and maintain relationships with Suppliers, pricing, and delivery schedules. 3. Customs Compliance: Ensure all import / export activities adhere to relevant customs and trade regulations, working closely with legal and regulatory teams like BIS / WPC etc. 4. Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with logistics partners to manage the movement of goods, optimize shipping routes, and reduce transit times, Customs Clearance / delivery of purchase items including assistance for Custom clearance of Contractor material. 5. Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities, analyze expenses, and implement strategies to reduce import-related costs. 6. Documentation: Oversee accurate and complete import documentation, including customs declarations, permits, and certificates. 7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential import-related risks, such as delays, customs issues, and supply chain disruptions. 8. Process Improvement: Understanding of the Import / Export related process and enhancement of processes, leveraging technology and automation where applicable. 9. Reporting: Generate regular reports on import performance, costs, and compliance for management review. 10. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments, such as procurement, finance, and sales, to ensure smooth coordination of import activities. 11. Market Research: Stay informed about international trade trends, regulations, and industry developments that could impact import operations. Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills) Knowledge of Customs / GST and other Allied Laws Clarity on HSN Classification and Compliance required by regulatory bodies. Good knowledge of Shipping for Export and Import Awareness of process for Import / Export & Re-export / Re-import of Material Knowledge of ERP System with good acumen for Understanding of System requirement and Development. Conversant with INCO terms. Good written and oral communication skills, especially in English & Local Language
