Responsibilities:
Database Design and Architecture:
Design and implement scalable and high-performance database solutions.
Work closely with development teams to understand application requirements and ensure optimal database design.
Platform Expertise:
Possess in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases.
Evaluate, recommend, and implement appropriate database technologies based on project requirements.
Performance Optimization:
Conduct performance tuning and optimization of database systems for maximum efficiency.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring high availability and responsiveness of databases.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
Ensure databases comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Data Modeling:
Develop and maintain data models for various applications.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure data integrity and consistency.
Backup and Recovery:
Implement robust backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data against loss or corruption.
Perform regular testing of backup and recovery procedures.
Collaboration and Documentation:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing database expertise and support.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
Continuous Learning:
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
Provide guidance to the team on the adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
6-8 years of proven experience as a Database Architect or a similar role.
In-depth expertise in MSSQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases.
Strong understanding of database design principles, data modeling, and normalization.
Experience with performance optimization and tuning of databases.
Solid knowledge of database security practices and compliance standards.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) would be a plus.
