Solution Architect Job in Rakuten India Development Center

We build Rakuten LINK, a mobile communication app deeply integrated with Rakuten Mobile mobile network services and the Rakuten Group ecosystem.

We are looking for a new team member who is excited to deliver business solution. As a solution architect you will:

• Be responsible for overall system design, including front end and back end architecture
• Work closely with product managers, engineering teams, other architects and managers to deliver high quality, end-to-end architecture.
• Translate technical concepts into plain, non-technical language in order to explain impact on product.
  Conversely, translate high level product requirements into technical solutions.
• Drive technical improvement initiatives across multiple teams.
• Mentor others, share knowledge and promote a collaborative team culture

The LINK Engineering Section consists of over 80 engineers working in multiple locations in Asia and Europe

The team is established from many different cultures from around the world, bringing a unique feel to the team and the way we work.

• Bachelor s degree in computer science or related technical discipline.
• 10 + years of experience building client and backend applications/ distributed systems as engineer, tech lead or architect.
• Hands-on technical expertise with any platforms
• Experience delivering systems from inception through development to release and maintenance.
• Strong passion for technical quality through code, automation, design & process.
• Able & willing to do hands-on coding & code reviews.
• Practical knowledge of development practices, techniques and tools, such as: unit testing, continuous delivery, code review, enforceable code quality standards etc.
• Deep understanding of application level standards (some, not all of them), e.g. HTTP, OpenID Connect, GRPC, mobile push notifications, JWT, CBOR, public-key cryptography etc.
• Strong written and spoken communication. Capable to explain complex topics in plain language.
• Experience leading technical teams to deliver solutions (no people management necessary)
• Comfortable to work across several teams in different geographies.
• Be open to giving & receiving constructive feedback.

• Master in computer science or related technical discipline.
• Experience with containerized deployments to public and/or private clouds.
• Experience with mobile DevOps & SRE
• Experience developing software libraries and/or maintaining open source software
• Experience with technical writing and/or public speaking
