As a Qualcomm Technical Standards Engineer, you will develop technology and innovations which improve and evolve industry technical standards. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to existing draft standards and the development of new standards for their domain of expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

*Global travel several times per year for standards organization forums.

Requirements: Familiarity with general wired connectivity and standards Responsibilities: Familiarize with USB standards orgs and Qualcomm business objectives. Participate at USB standards meetings in forward looking discussions such as USB 5. Track and perform internal reviews of all ECNs introduced into the USB standards. Maintain a roster of Qualcomm attendees to USB standards meetings. Attend several weekly USB standards meetings (usually Pacific time). Review all Qualcomm contributions to USB for correctness. Review all deliverables from the USB org from a technical and messaging standpoint. Perform periodic internal sync meetings with QC attendees & internal teams, documenting highlights, including points of interest to QC. Participate in periodic internal wired interface meetings , typically 3 hours each week. Assure QC attendees meet the IP department participation and patent disclosure requirements. Update the IP department of any USB org policy changes. Perform compliance reviews as required by the IP department.
