Job Description:

A Senior Data Manager is expected to:

• As a member of project development team, develop database functions; scripts; procedures and triggers.
• Participate in customer interactions to understand their business context, existing data infrastructure, and existing data
• Be able to connect business context and specifics conceptually with databases, provide expert comments on the appropriateness of existing data stores, and suggest improvements
• Provide technical assistance to anticipate and resolve all database issues related to performance, capacity and access.
• Assist in design and development of database systems.
• Optimize database systems for performance and reliability.
• Ensure data integrity and quality in database systems.

Requisites

Education:

Bachelors or master s in computer science / Computer Engineering / Information Systems / Information Technology

Experience (Years):

5 to 8 years of relevant experience in designing, developing, and managing SQL, NoSQL, Big Data and Cloud-based data storage systems

Skills

Technical Skills & Job Responsibility

• Demonstrated excellence with RDBMS systems, NoSQL systems, Cloud-based databases or data warehouses, Hadoop ecosystem, and modern data platform architectures
• Experience in processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data
• Installation, configuration, clustering, migration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, backup and data recovery of databases
• Strong analytical ability and debugging skills about any matters of data
• Monitor and identify problems with SQL, diagnose the problem and work with application and development teams to resolve performance issues.
• Participate with other engineering disciplines to ensure successful program delivery
• Provide input into architecture and design
• Database health monitoring, issue identification and resolution
• Work on and manage the data aspects of multiple concurrent projects for multiple stakeholders
• Excellent conceptual understanding of databases, operating systems, networking and the cloud
• Experience integrating with analytics and data science tools or solutions is a plus
• Excellent understanding of data security, data quality, data privacy and data governance
• Schema design experience, both in RDBMS and NoSQL contexts. Ability to map a business context into a viable schema design
• Practical knowledge in securing cloud and on-premises data stores through the right tools, policies, procedures and controls
