Main Responsibilities Data Source Identification: Conduct extensive research and analysis to identify potential data sources, both internal and external, that can provide valuable information for our organization. This includes websites, databases, APIs, third-party vendors, and other relevant platforms. Data Gathering and Extraction: Develop and implement efficient methods to gather and extract data from identified sources. This may involve writing and maintaining scripts, utilizing APIs, leveraging automated tools, or collaborating with data engineering teams to ensure data accessibility. Data Validation and Quality Assurance: Implement robust data validation processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of acquired data. Perform data cleansing, normalization, and transformation to maintain data integrity standards. Data Privacy and Compliance: Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements related to data acquisition, storage, and usage, such as GDPR or any equivalent in the relevant jurisdiction. Ensure compliance with data privacy policies, maintain data confidentiality, and handle sensitive information with utmost care. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand their data requirements and provide appropriate data sets for analysis. Collaborate with IT teams to optimize data acquisition processes and resolve technical issues promptly. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest data acquisition techniques, tools, and industry best practices. Identify areas for improvement in data acquisition processes and propose innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and data quality. Skills and experience required: Proven experience in data acquisition, data management, or a similar role. Experience with various data extraction tools, APIs, web scraping, or data integration technologies is highly desirable. Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java. Experience with data extraction tools like Informatica, Talend, or SSIS. Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView is a plus. Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to dissect complex data acquisition challenges and develop effective solutions. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and quality throughout the acquisition process.
