Job Summary Job Description for MySQL DBA: Job Brief: We are looking for a MySQL Database Administrator. Skills: Proven ability with query tuning dramatically improving database performance. Experience with MySQL replication, security, performance tuning/optimization (query optimization, index tuning, catching and buffer tuning) Ability to write complex SQL queries to support the application team. Troubleshooting and performance tuning issues with applications like MySQL and Java Applications on Linux box. Design and implement various backup and recovery strategies on heterogeneous environments. Recovery of database with no or minimal data loss Understands data retention, backup policies, data migrations, data purging, and provides solutions to the issues coming up around those areas. Work closely with the application developers and Operations to ensure reliable database usage. Investigate application response time issues. Provide solutions for performance improvements. Validate and test stored procedures before implementation in the production environment. Independently tune databases to extract best performance including memory, MySQL server level and object level. Analyse the databases and rectify bottlenecks efficiency. Prepare documentations and specifications. MySQL Database High Availability Troubleshoot Replication Performance issues and Clustering Performance issues. Manage HA and ensure that there is adequate IT capacity to meet required levels of service and advised on how to match capacity is optimized Analysis of usage and performance data and reporting on performance against targets contained in Service Level Agreements. Hands-on experience with related complementary software platforms and languages (e.g. Python and Power Shell). Key Responsibility Areas: Create and manage multiple databases and assist in capacity planning. Monitor and maintain database systems and troubleshoot problems that may arise. Maintain data integrity and security (manage roles and permissions of database users). Use tools like MySQL Workbench, generate traces, execution plans, identify performance issues and resolve them. Develop strategies and implement solutions for managing back-ups, restoration and replication. Create architecture maximizing uptime and allowing for upgrades and patching with minor downtime. Create and manage constraints and indexes. Support software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL and the creation of stored procedures. Manage production, staging and development database environments. Coordinate and communicate with all stakeholders including the Corporate Data team and teams within Cloud Office. Technical Expertise: Strong expertise in MySQL clustering, replication, multi-master. Extensive experience with RDBMS concepts, database architecture and SQL. Designation: MySQL Database Administrator Experience: 3 Years of experience Education: BE/ B. Tech in Computer Science/IT/Computer Engineering or MCA or equivalent Certifications: MySQL Certification
