Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Responsible for leading the Operational Excellence function globally to support our sites on their journey towards excellence and to ensure steady progress with their improvement initiatives and level of lean maturity. The role holder will also be responsible for the roll-out of global Operational Excellence initiatives across our sites and support the regular coaching and mentoring of the employees there to support lean behaviors and leadership. Additionally,

Drive the movement of the function up the OE maturity model by establish benchmark OE practices for continuous improvement Partner with site and functional heads to identify and drive improvement projects in line with customer and business requirements Partner with business for integration of new businesses /sites and standardize OE practices globally Drive change management with respect to operational efficiencies practices Develop systems to monitor and drive productivity improvement across and the sites and functions

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

Formulate and implement the global OE strategic roadmap across our sites

Drive and improve results by leveraging lean tools, consulting skills, and change management process and lead implementation of lean initiatives within manufacturing plants and its associated value streams.

Create long term activity roadmaps and lean transformation projects for the business including Kaizen and step change projects

Support site Operation heads to develop capacity and utilization tools and processes that will help drive capacity enhancement. Lead project status reviews with business leadership

Support and develop a culture of continuous improvement by supporting cross-functional efforts in the application of OE tools

Select and effectively deploy operational excellence tools and practices across the organization

Conceptualize and execute on improvement projects in line with business and customer requirements

Partner with site teams at conceptualization stage of new expansion projects and provide scientific inputs for manpower planning, process mapping, effective layouts etc.

Partner with business for integration of new businesses /sites and standardize OE practices globally.

Build OE capability globally by organizing training sessions on OE tools, organize competitions, platforms for sharing best practices etc. Build effective reporting and monitoring system for OE programs

Develop systems to monitor productivity and drive improvements across the sites and functions.

Identify and implement cultural transformation initiatives in functions (e.g. QC by conceptualizing and implementing Lean principles in QC laboratories and improving quality testing lead time and sample per analyst).

Conduct goal setting, mid and year end assessments and provide evidence based feedback to the solid and dotted line reports in the OE function globally

Drive change management for effective implementation of OE initiatives

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Reporting to: EVP and Manufacturing Head PPS India API Sites

QUALIFICATION:

Bachelors degree in science. Formal Lean/CI Black Belt certification (capable of training and certifying employees to green and black belt level) Six Sigma certification

20+ years of experience in an operational excellence role with at least 10 years of experience in an OE leadership profile supporting manufacturing to drive process improvements

EXPERIENCE:

Solid business acumen with substantial leadership experience

Extensive proven experience in facilitating lean transformation activities across sites and functions

Excellent organizational and planning skills.

Ability to create collaboration and partnership. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, which enable liaison and negotiations with internal and external parties

Ability to use strong analytical and business partnering skills to evaluate business performance and generate solutions to business issues..
