Position Summary

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the data integration engineer will be responsible for the design, build, and improve solutions that help analysts transform data into knowledge. The individual will be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintenance of the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, providing operational support, root cause analysis for the problems, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of ODI, Design, develop, and maintain the ETL processes that load data for the data warehouse using ETL tools (Oracle ODI) and PL/SQL

  • Provide ETL performance tuning

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues under tight deadlines

  • Maintain clean and stable dev, QA, and test environments.

  • Further, refine and ensure adherence to standards for development, code migration, version control, and all policies and procedures.

  • Actively contribute to the process of continual improvement for self, the team, and the data warehouse environment.

  • Responsible for analyzing various data structures, SQL queries optimization, and report tuning

  • Conduct code reviews to ensure that team's progress is done according to best practices

  • Provide 24x7 on-call support in the production environment on a rotation basis

  • Serving as a team player by working with colleagues and clients to identify and address overall system problems as needed

  • Influencing management to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches as appropriate.

Lead and participate in all aspects of data warehouse/analytical projects including conceptualization, design, development, testing, selection, deployment, and post-implementation support

Requirements

Due to the nature of this position, the applicant will need the ability to work from home or during off-hours as necessary.

  • In-Depth knowledge in Oracle ODI technology with working experience of OBIEE.

  • Ability to implement ETL concepts using native database utilities and third-party tools (ODI, Talend, SSIS, Informatica, SQL* Loader, Custom PL SQL packages)

  • Exposure to Linux, shell scripting, JSON, XML, PLSQL, Web Services, Relational Database Management System, etc.

  • Knowledge in SQL/PLSQL

  • Experience in on-call support in the production environment and to resolve any issues within the defined SLA's

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving skills; strong multi-tasking skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Required for the interview:

The ability to demonstrate work experience by providing report examples and source code.
