Sql Server Database Administrator Job in Patra Corporation

Patra is seeking a well-organized, detail-oriented database administrator to work collaboratively with the Patra application development team to review and implement changes for project developments. This will include table structure design supporting our relational database to store and present information critical to evolving business. The database administrator will report directly to the Data Architect Manager, providing mentorship to technical and functional areas for report and application developers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will be responsible for providing operational database services to the organization. Some of the primary responsibilities of this role will include owning, tracking and resolving database-related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service-related reports (e.g., database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service-related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs, responding to database-related alerts and escalations and working with the Data Architect Manager to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.

REQUIREMENTS

• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field is preferable. Equivalent combination of experience, education and training will be considered
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in database support in Microsoft SQL Server environments
• Strong experience in Database Administration and experience with SQL Server 2008, 2012 and 2014 including installation, configuration, patching and upgrades
• Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Perform configuration and management of SQL Server Replication
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server including AlwaysOn, Mirroring, Log Shipping and Clustering
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, mirroring issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
• Ability to develop and maintain SSIS packages experience in creating ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) and data transfer processes
• Experience must include a strong grasp for relational databases. Skills consisting of query optimization, development of views, stored procedures, triggers and functions
• Ability to troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention
• Knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC and commands
• Knowledge and experience using extended events
• Data modeling experience
• Ability to create complex SQL queries
• Solid English written and spoken communication skills
• Excellent documentation skills for procedures enforcing database coding standards and practices are followed
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, and Access
• Experience with multiple platforms (MSSQL, Reporting Services, Power BI, Crystal Reports) a plus
• Requires strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities
• Programming/scripting experience and knowledge of software development life cycle is preferred
• Microsoft certifications are a plus
