Job Summary

Essential Function:

Functionally the role is part of the Data Analysis & Reporting Group in RTSM Production Services. The SAS Programmer is responsible for providing advice both internally and externally to help PI deliver a service that matches, and where possible exceeds, client expectations. Data management consists of data transfers and associated checks programmed in SAS and the development of standards surrounding PIs storage of data

Key Accountabilities:

  • Write SAS programs to facilitate checks on the source data captured by PIs systems
  • Write SAS programs to prepare SAS datasets to transfer to clients; the programs should check for internal consistency of the transferred data where possible.
  • Writing SAS programs to support other SPSS processes and tasks
  • Deliver a positive, memorable and meaningful service which exceeds the expectations of both the internal and external customer.
  • Provide expert advice, both internally and externally, on issues and processes relating to data management of data captured by PIs systems.
  • Contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Acting as a trainer, coach and mentor as required.
  • Assist the Data Management Team Leader in the development and delivery of an appropriate strategy that supports the overall strategic business plan and other service specific strategies.
  • Ensuring that all personally assigned objectives are achieved to the agreed standard and within the agreed timeframe. Bringing to the attention of the Team Leader any circumstances giving rise to concern or delay.
  • Maintain and provide routine and as requested information to the Team Leader for inclusion in departmental and company-wide information and communication sharing processes

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience as a Programmer / Developer in RTSM, Synapse or CP4 Platforms.
  • Experience in SQL is mandatory.
  • Experience / Understanding of SAS Programming, CDSIC is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of PI programming and database standards and data transfer processes.
  • Client focused approach to work.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning.
