Job Summary

Responsibilities: Coach, mentor and Provide technical guidance to Application support engineers Periodically check application and system health to support the team. Perform Level 1, Level 2, and/or, Level 3 support Administer monitoring services such as New Relic, Grafana,Prometheus, Sumologic Correlate multiple monitoring system events and application status to ensure proper diagnosis. Troubleshoot and resolve system related issues. Update existing runbooks and/or develop new runbooks as required. Determine severity and urgency of an incident and take immediate action to restore service; escalating to Engineering staff as necessary. Ensure established communications structure is followed during system impacting events. Lead and direct troubleshooting efforts during P1/P2 incidents. Ensure the team can provide health status updates on production and development platforms. Look for improvements and offer recommendations to existing processes and documentation. Identify events requiring new runbooks and work with management to complete development. Provide support in tuning applications and infrastructure Increase application availability, redundancy, scalability, and performance Requirements Strong linux based OS Has a history of working / managing OPS or NOC teams Familiarity working with AWS Familiarity working with databases and monitoring systems Demonstrate the highest level of commitment towards adhering to committed SLAs to our customers Very good at doing RCA and publishing recommendations to avoid the same issue from happening in the future Experience leading and managing teams across multiple shift patterns including the production of KPIs Gworking knowledge of Cloud based deployments (AWS and GCP) Experience using application monitoring, performance management, log tools such as New Relic, Grafana,Prometheus, Kibana Excellent communicator, able to effectively describe technical issues to non-technical audiences including client stakeholders Prior experience with a configuration and change management system Why Work at Open?
