Role Overview

As an Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager (AM/DM) - Store Operations, you will manage and optimize the warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and movement of goods. You will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, controlling costs, and ensuring that the warehouse operations align with company policies, safety standards, and production targets. Your role will involve strategic planning to optimize space utilization, improve operational efficiency, and oversee continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warehouse Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including the coordination of internal movement of goods and ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Internal Logistics: Manage internal logistics operations in compliance with factory policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Space Optimization: Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to ensure efficient storage, easy accessibility, and reduced handling times.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement operational policies and procedures that support production targets, safety, and quality standards.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage stock levels to ensure sufficient inventory to meet internal demands, conducting regular inventory audits, and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the warehouse budget, control costs related to storage, handling, and transportation of goods, and identify areas for cost savings while maintaining high service levels.
  • Technology and Equipment Evaluation: Evaluate potential investments in technology, equipment, and systems to enhance operational capabilities and improve efficiency.
  • Continuous Learning: Foster a culture of continuous learning, development, and improvement within the team, challenging employees to enhance key competencies and operational performance.
  • Compliance and Legal Requirements: Ensure compliance with government policies and legal requirements related to warehousing and logistics operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate with a Diploma in Material Management or a B.Tech. in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering.

Experience

  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in warehouse and internal logistics operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

Functional Expertise

  • Proven experience in warehousing and internal logistics operations.
  • Strong understanding of compliance with government policies and legal requirements related to logistics and warehousing.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective strategic plans, solve problems, and make decisions that optimize operations.
  • Experience in managing inventory control, stock audits, and reconciliation.
  • ERP Experience: Prior experience working in an ERP environment; Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting, analysis, and planning.
