Job Summary

Roles and Responsibilities

  • 1. Ensure initial assessment of the patient at the time of admission done and documentation of all forms like transfer form, nursing daily assessment, and all checklists.
  • 2. To maintain the personal hygiene of the patients, including bathing, care of mouth, back, nails, hair.
  • 3. Care of pressures points as needed.
  • 4. Assist in feeding the weak and debilitated patients.
  • 5. Assist in physiotherapy, ambulation and rehabilitation with Physiotherapist.
  • 6. Carry-out patients teaching and demonstration according to the need.
  • 7. Counselling the patients, and relatives/ patients and family education.
  • 8. Care of the dying and dead.
  • 9. Administration of Medicines and Injections to the patients.
  • 10. Assist in administration of intravenous injections, infusion and Transfusion.
  • 11. Observing, recording and reporting of vital signs e.g. T.P.R. and Blood pressure.
  • 12. Carry out technical procedures, such as Naso-gastric intubations, Gastric Gavages and Lavage, Oxygen Therapy, Dressing and Irrigation, Enema, Catheterization hot and cold applications, suction.
  • 13. Collecting, labelling and dispatch of specimen.
  • 14. Preparation for and assistance in clinical tests and medical/surgical procedures.
  • 15. Urine testing for sugar, and albumin.
  • 16. Observation, recording and reporting of all procedures andtests.
  • 17. Escorting serious patients to and from the department/wards for investigation.
  • 18. Handing over and taking over charge of patients, and ward inventory in each shift.
