As a Senior Engineer at Mutual Mobile you will:

• Act as team lead for a project charged with defining and implementing the application architecture
• Mentor junior team members
• Reconcile design between iOS and Android on a cross-functional team
• Provide thought leadership and make contributions to continually improve the cross-platform development practices
• Conduct code reviews for your peers and learn from code reviews of your own code

Requirements

You will excel in this position if:

• You have at least 4-5 years of professional mobile/web development experience.
• You have a passion for React Native and JavaScript and are excited to advocate for the platform
• You have experience in delivering React Native applications for both iOS and Android platforms
• You understand the principles of Redux/Mobx and make strong architectural recommendations
• You have a strong understanding of the various react native navigation libraries available
• You are comfortable experimenting with new cross-platform solutions and making recommendations for app development
• You are comfortable working in close collaboration with other disciplines including design, QA, and PM
• You have a strong understanding of modern architectural design and best practices
• You have source control discipline and are comfortable using git flow
• You stay abreast of the latest React and JS libraries and can offer well formed opinions when selecting a tech stack
• You can engage in technical discussions with peers with an open mind and a view towards the best outcome for the project
• You are experienced in handling both legacy code and greenfield projects and can make technical recommendations based on the needs of the project
• You have strong communication skills
• You have worked as part of a Scrum team and understand Agile methodologies
• You have practical knowledge of the mobile development lifecycle
• You are a team player and are comfortable acting as either a leader or a member of a project team
