Position Overview

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Quality Assurance (QA) to lead our QA organization and ensure the delivery of world-class products. This leadership role requires deep expertise in quality engineering, strong technical acumen, and a strategic mindset. You will be responsible for defining the overall QA strategy, scaling high-performing teams, and implementing modern testing frameworks and methodologies that align with business and product objectives.

This is a high-impact role, collaborating cross-functionally to champion a culture of quality across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute a comprehensive QA vision and strategy aligned with the company's product development goals.
  • Evolve QA methodologies and processes by integrating Agile, DevOps, and shift-left principles.
  • Stay ahead of QA industry trends and innovations to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, build, and mentor a world-class QA team including managers, leads, and engineers.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and support career development through coaching and training.
  • Promote a "quality-first" mindset across all engineering and product teams.

Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Oversee planning and execution of all QA activities including functional, non-functional (performance, security, usability), automation, and regression testing.
  • Lead the implementation and scaling of test automation frameworks to improve speed, coverage, and reliability.
  • Manage defect tracking and resolution processes, ensuring root cause analysis and timely resolution.
  • Define, track, and report on key quality metrics such as defect density, test coverage, automation ROI, and overall product health.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Business teams to embed quality early in the product lifecycle.
  • Clearly communicate QA strategies, risk assessments, and progress updates to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Act as a quality evangelist across the organization, promoting best practices and shared accountability for quality.

Process Optimization

  • Identify inefficiencies and quality bottlenecks across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to reduce time-to-market without compromising on quality.
  • Advocate for shift-left testing approaches, integrating QA earlier in development workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 15+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, including at least 7+ years in senior leadership roles (e.g., QA Manager, Senior Manager, or Director).
  • Proven track record in building and scaling high-performing QA teams in product-driven environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, DevOps) and various testing types (functional, performance, security, usability).
  • Strong experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JMeter, Postman).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in Fintech or regulated product-based environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
