ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues related to Unix and Linux operating systems in a timely manner. Conduct basic investigation and follow standards to resolve or escalate. Monitor systems to optimize performance and uptime to assist with meeting service levels. Ability to prioritize, manage and perform under pressure to meet SLA s. Ability to work with vendor support to resolve critical issues in a timely manner. Work within the relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Perform extensive troubleshooting and problem solving, independently as well as with the help of other support resources with least impact to business performance. Be available for providing after-hours/weekend/holiday production support when called upon. May provide on-call support when required. Required to learn and use good time management skills to complete assigned tasks. Work with senior team members and vendors to ensure stakeholders are informed and provided timely updates and resolutions. Assist with compliance of systems through existing standards and procedures. Identify gaps in compliance and remediate in a timely manner. Present the ability to work on multiple priorities. Seek guidance where applicable to help prioritize multiple priorities. Ability to take and follow direction.A positive attitude, good teamwork, professionalism & interpersonal skills, proactively seeking solutions, taking initiative where necessary. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with business associates SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS AIX, Unix and Linux server. Ksh, Csh or Bsh shell scripting. Troubleshooting skills and understanding system logging and error reporting Device management and administration Ability to identify root cause of issues and resolve them. Knowledge of VMWare ESXi.Knowledge of Red Hat Satellite server and Ansible Smooth start new servers, applications, and packages. Troubleshoot day to day issues and resolve requests or escalate as needed. Should be able to create, configure and check the status of print queue. Access management. Responsible for scheduling and executing regular system management activities including system reboot, backup, recovery, Patching (OS & Firmware level), archiving, and restoration. Server monitor and alert management with Zabbix or any equivalent tool. Analyze software and hardware environments to determine any system defects. Administer logging and alerting systems. Participate in daily administration of Red Hat OpenShift Requirements: Bachelor s Degree in Computer science/Diploma or equivalent with 0 - 2 Years of Experience Experience working in AIX/UNIX/Linux environments.
