Automation Architect

Identifying and recommending the automated testing processes and tools. Define and publish key performance metrics for the automated testing. Provide leadership, guidance, training and mentoring to implement test automation across project teams. Define and implement test automation strategy including roadmap, tools, framework & approach across project teams. Oversee technological execution of the recommended automation solution roadmap across project teams. Participate in Design and Architectural reviews of proposed automation solutions across project teams. Evaluate and select best usage of test automation tools for different purposes. Assist engineering management team with the technical presentation of proposed automation solutions. Ongoing knowledge of automated testing industry best practices and trends. Experience with test automation and test management tools various development projects.

Key Responsibilities

• The position requires Automation architect to have strong working experience in authoring Automation Frameworks from scratch
• Knowledge of web-based systems
• Knowledge of Java and J2EE
• Architecting/Designing experience for tools / applications
• Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns
• Automation architecture development experience
• Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically around automated processes in agile development
• Proficient working with relational database management systems
• Knowledge of industry standard design patterns
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment required
• Self-starter willing to learn and adapt to new technologies

Skills and Experience

• 12+ years of experience as Technical Architect
• Provide automation expertise to Development and QA team
• Understand the product functionality and suggest test strategies to improve product quality
• Establish processes and tools to maintain automation scripts
• Create automation best practices and set high standards for the entire team to build consistent and maintainable tests
• Must research, recommend and implement tools as needed. The goal is to increase automation across the board
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
• Code review of automation engineers
• Show continuous improvement by recommending/investigating alternatives and technologies

Education

• Bachelors Degree in engineering or equivalent
