Job Summary
PositionHead- ElectronicsReports ToVP- Vehicle Systems COE'sPlace of PostingMRV, ChennaiRole Details To develop & integrate Electronics packages for the vehicle/ aggregate programs, meeting time, quality, cost targets, in the area Body Electronics, Safety, security systems and Audio/ infotainment areas.
To integrate & calibrate new feature oriented technologies in electronics area, and take steps towards successful implementation.
Create value enhancement to the existing and new products by virtue of conceptualizing and developing new features.
To provide support to electrical group for all electronic related issues/concerns as regards to integration, quality, reliability, & EMI/EMC issues.
To identify & achieve the potential cost saving areas of electronic systems without compromising functionality & reliability by using cutting edge tools.
To reduce the warranty failures of the Body & infotainment systems
To develop technology road map for various vehicle platforms.
Mentoring the teams to build in house capability towards a world class design house.
To develop & integrate Electronics packages for the vehicle/ aggregate programs, meeting time, quality, cost targets, in the area Body Electronics, Safety, security systems and Audio/ infotainment areas.
To integrate & calibrate new feature oriented technologies in electronics area, and take steps towards successful implementation.
Create value enhancement to the existing and new products by virtue of conceptualizing and developing new features.
To provide support to electrical group for all electronic related issues/concerns as regards to integration, quality, reliability, & EMI/EMC issues.
To identify & achieve the potential cost saving areas of electronic systems without compromising functionality & reliability by using cutting edge tools.
To reduce the warranty failures of the Body & infotainment systems
To develop technology road map for various vehicle platforms.
Mentoring the teams to build in house capability towards a world class design house.
Responsibilities & Key Deliverables Release detailed architecture & plans for application & integration schemes of various systems like Engine Management systems, Automatic Transmission, Air Bags, PODs, Electronic Stability , Body control Modules, security systems Inst. Clusters, Climate controls ,Semi active suspension, etc.
Release the system design specifications duly bench marking against industry & the best practices to achieve time, cost, & quality targets of the main program
Make the teams to create detail designs from the concept/s, to ensure robustness of the respective system by meeting component level and system level design validation requirements. Also styling requirements if applicable. (like Driver information systems, Cluster, Infotainment systems etc)
Develop and test the prototype to achieve the functional image of the intended segment by conducting tests on various parameters considering the interfacing aggregates.
Ensure that the product development cycle is followed through all the critical steps of MPDS by continuous monitoring and control.
Keep abreast with latest technologies, global trends , different designs and new concepts to ensure that value engg and value addition is achieved by not comprising the reliability levels.
Ensure war footing response for closure of critical complaints. Achieve robustness of the product and high customer satisfaction by adopting new simulation techniques and improvements in manufacturing process
Preparing a technology road map and monitoring the adherence and execution.
Ensuring competency building and monitoring of individual performance.
System cost should be able to estimate the budget within +/- 15%.. Also should be able to outline the Engineering , development cost for hardware & software systems. Also to be able to forecast the tooling cost close to 80% accuracy
Unit and development cost should not exceed the budget on technical reasons. In case, exceeding due to new requirements or legislation related requirement, should be able to carry out the viability/ implications on business case
Reliability (R/1000) targets to be estimated upfront in the beginning of the project with E&E HOD
Performance of the electronic systems i.e TCF concerns, 3 MIS / customer satisfaction index etc
No. of new features introduced in series production on existing platform.
No .of new concepts developed as a demonstration.
Standardization of Hardware / Software across the platforms.
No of processes , engineering standards, testing standards released.
Skill & capability development based on an assessment
