Job Summary

Youll be responsible for IFRS based financial reporting and translating commercial business transactions using the correct accounting treatment ensuring adequate and appropriate substantiation of the balances.

Youll manage a team of 3-6 employees and have ownership over the work performed within the team, ensuring adherence to deadlines whilst maintaining high quality deliverables. Youll delegate and manage work based on experience and task complexity and act as an escalation point for the team regarding complex questions, obstacles and decisions. Youll also provide feedback and support to assist your team in their roles and professional development.

You will be responsible for an effective financial control environment including monthly balance sheet and profit and loss analysis. Youll be required to ensure the correct position in the account, business, and entity balances, as well as the reconciliation and attestation of balances through regular accounting, reviewing sub-system posting positions, month end close, inter-co breaks clearing and suspense clearing. Youll also manage submission and review of CDP and data requirements, FX hedging and documentation, as well as tax bookings including TP, GST and VAT.

Youll be responsible for any financial, regulatory and tax reporting submissions, providing context underlying the submissions as needed including new transactions, deals, products, entities, acquisitions and restructures. Youll effectively resolve issues, manage queries and will continually seek to review and improve processes, controls and systems.

To be successful in this role, youll have a postgraduate accounting qualification (CA or CPA), as well 8-10 years of relevant post qualification experience and a deep understanding of reporting requirements under IFRS, particularly standards that are relevant to the financial services industry. Prior experience in the banking, financial services, public accounting and stock broking industries will be considered favourably.

Youll demonstrate a strong sense of accountability with excellent problem-solving skills and an innovation mindset with a focus on improving processes to enhance efficiencies, add value and ensure quality consciousness in all aspects of key deliverables. Youll demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills that enable you to effectively manage competing priorities, effective communication skills and will be willing to travel overseas as required.
